Raising money and doing the petition is awesome/sweet/great! I think everyone should do that, and try to adopt/sponser apes too!

Thanks for spreading the word about the plight of apes! Don't forget about the gibbons and siamangs--they are apes too and are among the most endangered apes in the world.
Chimps are the apes I know best and they are wonderful. I once saw a chimp bump his head, and another chimp ran right over to give him a hug!

Bonobos are our closest mammal relations. They live in only 1 country (aside from zoos). I watched a program about bonobos, and they live in a country that had been at war. Many of the bonobos are endagered. Once, when I was at the Jacksonville Florida Zoo, I saw a bonobo exhibit. Someone had thrown a Pepsi bottle into their habitat, and a bonobo was trying to drink out of it! Smart ape!
